Lincolnshire

Our plan to head back to Derbyshire was diverted to Lincolnshire in the hope of finding better weather. We arranged to meet Dave and Dawn in Chapel St Leonard's. "Sounded quaint" said Dawn as the reality of the enormous caravan parks presented a town rather than a village feel.  It was very windy as we set off for an evening walk along the coast.  No al fresco dining tonight so we set to pre dinner drinks in one van and dining in the other. Very civilised and very sheltered from the buffeting wind and the marauding locals. It seems that our neighbouring holiday park has had the odd fight and stabbing of a weekend. Saturday we took on a bit more of the coastal path and through the local villages but had to curtail our walk because Mark got sand in his boot and worked himself up a nice little blister. We felt we had explored the coast and its holiday life enough so on Monday we headed off for the Lincolnshire Wolds. The P4Night was fantastic. Located at Red Hill Nature Rese

N York Moors & Goyt Valley

 2020 heralded the world pandemic of Coronavirus so named COVID19. Travel has been severely curtailed and since 22 March we had only left Leicestershire once to cycle the Cloud Trail. Arrangements were made to meet Dave and Dawn in a temporary holiday site for the Caravan and Camping Club in West Witten in the North Yorkshire Moors.  A temporary holiday site (THS) in Wensleydale was our beautiful campsite for the weekend giving us access to great walking. Redmire Force (upstream from Aysgarth Falls of Robin Hood fame). A walk up Pen Hill with great views from the top. A walk through the adjoining farmland Despite the presence of a great pub called The Wensleydale Heifer, this is strange times and none of us wanted to dine out. Camper van grub it was then. Dave and Dawn were hosts one night and we did the next. Great weather allowed us to dine al fresco. On Sunday we said our goodbyes and Dave and Dawn headed off to Northumberland and we headed south to the Goyt Valley in Derbyshire, bu
